Summer 2 : Week 2 & 3

Dear Parents,

 

Thank you for the way that you have been working and supporting your child’s learning at home.   

We want to continue to support you with your child’s learning at home.  We will continue to share tasks with you on the website and via email for you do at home with your child Every two weeks .

 

We miss the children very much and hope that they are creating memories with you through cooking together, reading together, playing games together or craft making with you.

  

 We expect your child to complete the following task daily

 

Daily expectations

 

Talking task

 

·         Ask your child lots of questions and encourage them to ask you questions.

·         Get your child to think of answers to their questions

·         Introduce new vocabulary to your child, using pictures and physical  examples to help them learn it

·         Get your child to talk about things that they observe

 Physical development

 ·         Help your child to be independent in looking after themselves –washing hands using the toilet and getting themselves dressed

·         Get your child to take part in a physical activity

·         Encourage your child to eat using a knife, fork and spoon

·         Get your child to help with daily house activities such as cooking and tidying up their toys

·         Support holding and using a pencil and scissors correctly

 

 Reading 

 

·         Continue to read daily to your child and use the online stories resources as well to support you telling and reading stories to your child.

·         Encourage your child to retell their favourite story

·         Get your child to talk about the characters and what is happening in the story

·         Get your child to tell their own story using the pictures in the book.

·         Continue to sing and learn new Nursery rhymes

 Writing
 

·         Get your child to write their name correctly. Show your child the correct way to write their name and allow them to copy it

·         Get your child to draw or paint and talk about their drawing. Encourage them to make up a story.
